No. Based on the fact that the better of my work day is spent on Vox (once upon a time . . . ), Facebook (got my farms and my mafia to tend to.), Twitter (over it) and trying to cull down the unwieldy amount of posts in Google Reader. Damn your prolificness, Guys With iPhones (Who knew that many narcissists existed. Hot narcissists for the most part. So I can give 'em a pass) , um Movieline, Dlisted and Towleroad.
If you could be fluent in any language (that you don't currently read or speak), which one would it be?
Portuguese. Congrats, Rio! (Sorry, Chicago!) I turn forty (knock wood) in 2015 and I think a trip to Brazil in 2016 will be a great birthday present to myself. Seven years is long enough for me to start saving my pennies and I should be in Speedo shape by then. So I'm hitting the beach to check out all the "tall and tan and young and handsome" boys from Ipanema.
If you had an extra day each month - that no one else had - how would you spend it?
As much I try to avoid other folks, having a day that no one else would kind of suck. Where in the hell would they disappear to while I'm trying not to kill myself because of boredom enjoying my super secret day? Is this some sort monthly rapture-type thingy where I'm "left behind" as the last heathen on earth?
Which relative - dead or alive - do you wish you knew better?
My paternal grandfather. He was a farmer and me being the snotty little shit that I was didn't spend as much time on the tobacco farm as my other brother's did. I'm just curious as to how he being a black man in rural North Carolina managed endure everything that stood in his way. He also had a little bait store where he spent most of time picking away at his guitar. He loved his blues and his country. It took awhile to take, but I think he is a big reason I love me some country music. It's my way of staying connected to him.
