Music QotD: Best Album[s] in 2008
What was your favorite album[s] in 2008?
Old school country. Dark, dank and depressing.
Blued eyed soul at it's best.
Ageless soul. Reverend Al is still at the top of his game.
Hifalutin titles like "St. Exquisite's Confession" damn near scared me away, but kicky grooves and Kevin Barnes lamenting in that falsetto of his about being "so sick the dick of this cruel cruel city" roped me in.
With songs like "If There Was No Music" and "Do the Funky Chicken," Rufus Thomas Live in Poretta sounds like a party I would've love to have been invited to. But one of the highlights (above) is another contender for BBW National Anthem. But my favorite tune has to be his bluesy take on the country classic "Today I Started Loving You Again."
